Synthetic Blood
These synthetic blood formulations are prepared according to official methods ASTM F1819-19, ASTM F1670/F1670-17A, ASTM F1862/F1862M-17 and ASTM F2100. They are intended for product testing and have the surface tension and viscosity that is close to human blood. Additionally, the color of the solution is intended to mimic the appearance of genuine human blood. The formulation can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of materials used in protective clothing. It can also be used to evaluate absorption capacity of materials that are in contact with human skin for prolonged periods. The formulations are not suitable for medical, intravenous or human use. This is not a blood substitute and is intended for laboratory use only. The solutions can be stored at room temperature and have a shelf life of one year.
