Inspired by the ASTM D4265 method for testing laundry detergents this emulsion contains 5% of artificial sebum and 1.2% of Synthetic Soil in solution of AATCC Method 15 Artificial Perspiration. The use of artificial perspiration allows to account for effects of salts, amino acids, and lactic acid on staining. Use of Synthetic Soil instead of air filter dust improves batch to batch reproducibility of the product and eliminates extraction solvents use for more environmentally friendly manufacturing process.
